The Workshop Imaginaries of the Carboniferous in times of energy transition will take place at the Aula Paleobotánica de Fabero and the Gran Corta de Fabero (El Bierzo, León) on July 1 and 2, 2023. It is a multidisciplinary meeting with talks and workshops between specialists, professionals, enthusiasts and neighbors of the town of Fabero around this mining territory in the midst of social, economic and environmental transition. The aim of the conference is to reflect together on the potential of culture as an engine of social and environmental transformation. And to put into practice new cultural imaginaries based on the interaction and dialogue between contemporary art and museology, ecosocial history and mining memory, and geological science or paleobotany with the popular knowledge and traditions of the landscape agents themselves.
