During the last few weeks there have been a series of debates in the social networks and the alternative press as to what the coronavirus pandemic represents in relation to the demands that environmentalism has been making about the crisis of civilization in which we find ourselves. Is this a great opportunity to raise awareness in social terms of the need for an ecological transition or, on the contrary, what is opening up before us is an era of such economic, social and political uncertainty that a reactivation of fossil industrialism will be imposed as common sense, despite the dramatic consequences that such a decision could have in the medium term? This article takes a position on this debate.
