The electrification of modern societies has been presented as an alternative to fossil fuels in contexts ranging from the interwar period to the present day. This conference analyse how this (supposed) dichotomy between fuels and electricity has been historically configured, through a series of visual and ideological discourses that condense the dual relationship between energy and power (power as physical power and as political power).
