On the occasion of the publication of the book Cultura fósil. Arte, cultura y política entre la Revolución industrial y el calentamiento global (Akal: Madrid, 2023), this seminar look at culture (understood in its multiple senses: as a cultural sphere, as a cultural industry, as popular culture, as a way of life, etc.) during fossil modernity. Based on different images and reflections, the seminar propose both an analytical approach to the relationship between class, culture and climate, and some aesthetic and political proposals to promote the decarbonisation of our cultural imaginaries.
